Gemeinsame Führung durch die Lernfabrik des PTW an der TU Darmstadt.

Das Institut für Produktionsmanagement, Technologie und Werkzeugmaschinen (PTW) der TU Darmstadt zählt zu den führenden Forschungseinrichtungen im Bereich der Produktionstechnik. Mit fünf Versuchshallen bietet das PTW eine außergewöhnliche Infrastruktur, in der an den Schlüsselthemen der Produktion von morgen geforscht wird.

Im Rahmen des IT/OT-Summits erhalten die Teilnehmenden exklusive Einblicke in zwei dieser Hallen: das TEC-Lab und die ETA-Fabrik.

Im TEC-Lab befindet sich die ursprüngliche Versuchshalle des PTW. Dort sind ein moderner Maschinenpark, ein klimastabiler Mess- und Probenbearbeitungsraum sowie mechanischer Support und Lehrwerkstatt angesiedelt. Ergänzt wird die Halle durch die Prozesslernfabrik CiP (2007 eröffnet, 500 m²), die Prinzipien der schlanken Produktion praxisnah erfahrbar macht.

Die ETA-Fabrik, 2016 eröffnet, setzt auf 770 m² neue Maßstäbe in der Forschung zu Energieeffizienz und Energieflexibilität auf Gebäude- und Maschinenebene. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt ist die praxisorientierte Wissensvermittlung, die in der integrierten Lernfabrik stattfindet.

Tobias Herwig is Managing Director of fischer Consulting in the fischer group of companies and host of the podcast ‘Fabrik der Zukunft’, one of the largest German-language podcasts on industrial production. He is an experienced manager and opinion leader in the field of production, logistics and Industry 4.0. In previous positions as Business Unit Manager for Factory Planning and Manager in a software company in the field of digitalisation in production, he has helped shape the factories of tomorrow and gained extensive practical experience. He is also a university lecturer for factory planning at DHBW CAS.
Ricardo Hormann
Industrial Cybersecurity Expert at Volkswagen
Ricardo Hormann is an Industrial Cybersecurity Expert at Volkswagen Group, bringing over 10 years of experience across all brands of the group. With a background in mechanical engineering, Ricardo transitioned into cybersecurity, specializing in global ICS projects. His expertise lies in network-based IDS, Asset Management, and Vulnerability Management, ensuring the security of industrial systems worldwide. Beyond his core responsibilities, he is also actively researching the intersection of AI and cybersecurity, exploring innovative ways to enhance industrial security.

Arpan Suryawanshi
Global PM Data Analytics-Manufacturing domain and Manufacturing Consultant

Arpan is a seasoned Manufacturing Consultant with over 17 years of experience, specializing in MES and other production IT systems. He has a proven track record in business process optimization, system implementation, and client enablement. Arpan currently leads Global Data Analytics initiatives in Manufacturing for Roche DIA and provides MES consulting support across Germany and China. As an AI evangelist, he actively drives innovation within critical digital transformation roadmaps. His work focuses on identifying new opportunities in the digital manufacturing space, aligning with new industry standards such as Unified Namespace (UNS) and ISA-95, and exploring the integration of AI platforms using Model Context Protocol (MCP) frameworks through active cross-industry collaboration.

Robert Feldmann
Director Industry at Microsoft

Robert Feldmann held various positions in general management and technology consulting before working at McKinsey for several years. He then joined Microsoft. He is currently a long-standing expert in sustainability and resource productivity and is responsible for chemical production and the supply chain in EMEA. The focus is on generating effects through the Microsoft Cloud and the partner ecosystem for manufacturing processes, including sustainability and advanced AI applications.

Reinhard Bertram
Head of internal IT & Group Cyber Security Officer at Softing Services

With over 30 years of experience in a wide range of information security roles, Reinhard Bertram combines technological depth with strategic foresight. As CIO and CISO of Softing AG, he is responsible for group-wide IT and information security – both operationally and strategically. He drives the integration of security into all areas of IT and product development, with successes such as the TISAX AL3 certification and the IEC 62443 4-1 certification as the foundation for NIS-2 and CRA.

His career has taken him through senior positions at T-Systems, BWI and Siemens, always focussing on security, IT architecture and transformation projects with high complexity and impact. He has extensive experience in leading large teams, building resilient IT structures and developing customer-centred IT/OT solutions in regulated and highly dynamic environments.

As a manager with an engineering background, he always thinks of security as an enabler for innovation, not as a blockade. His vision is to rethink IT boundaries, understand security as a business process and create IT architectures that shape change instead of managing it.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Tilman Traub Professor of Automation Technology in Manufacturing at Applied University Aalen
Prof. Traub studied mechanical engineering at TU Darmstadt. During his subsequent doctorate (2014-2019), he investigated how decision-supporting assistance systems for forming processes can be designed. During his work in industry at Dreistern GmbH & Co. KG, he successfully transferred some of the developed approaches into industrial applications. Prof. Traub has been Professor of Automation Technology in Manufacturing at Aalen University since March 2023.
Thomas Bleuel Senior Cybersecurity Awareness Manager at Siemens Energy

Thomas Bleuel is a renowned expert in the field of cybersecurity awareness and is currently Senior Cybersecurity Awareness Manager at Siemens Energy Global GmbH & Co. KG. With over a decade of experience, Thomas has developed numerous award-winning campaigns, including the „Defend. Together.“ campaign, which was recognised as „Outstanding Security Training Initiative 2023“ (German OSPAs) and „Best Cybersecurity Awareness Campaign 2024” (Care4Aware).

Thomas has pioneered innovative training concepts such as the ‚Cyber Academy‘, which provides critical skills to IT asset owners and managers. He has also implemented various internal certification schemes for industrial cyber security professionals and facilitated cyber resilience crisis simulations for various audiences.

In addition to being a certified Communications and Change Manager, Thomas is also certified in GRC (ISC²), Certified Information Security Manager (ISACA) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (ISC²).

Kati Gastrow OT Senior Security Architect at Mars Inc.
Kati is part of the OT Security team at Mars, Inc, which supports the Mars factories, laboratories and warehouses globally in strengthening their OT security posture. She is a factory automation professional with more than 15 years experience in regional and global engineering roles at several manufacturing companies. She has led automation projects ranging from obsolescence migration projects in oil & gas, automation and digitalisation of personal care and home care processes, as well as global robotic strategy and AGV integration.
Dr.-Ing. Luu Hoang Executive Manager Operational Excellence at Dr. August Oetker Nahrungsmittel KG
After completing his Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management at the University of Hamburg, Luu earned his PhD in automation technology. His dissertation dealt with the reconfigurability of production machines and capability models in the context of Industry 4.0. He gained extensive experience in food production with a focus on digitalisation. He is currently responsible for lean management and MES projects that have led to significant improvements. He is also involved in automation, digitalisation, maintenance and business architecture.
